Opening remarks：Since the 18th National Congress of the CPC, China has entered a new era of rapid development. China's high-quality development has attracted worldwide attention. In the past ten years, foreign friends living in Dalian can feel the development and changes of the city. What kind of experience and story made them give Dalian a favorable comment? We approached some foreign friends in Dalian to understand what they saw in Dalian.

From July 1, the Propaganda Department of the CPC CPC Municipal Committee, the Foreign Affairs Office of the Dalian Municipal People's Government, and the International Online Liaoning Channel jointly launched a series of reports on "My Ten Years in Dalian", which showcased the life and feelings of foreigners in Dalian in the ten years since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, showed readers a fast-growing and high-quality Dalian from their perspectives, and helped Dalian to create a city of East Asian culture.

In the winter of 2000, a 22-year-old French boy, Sylvester Benjamin, came to Dalian with his cousin as an optical expert. "At that time, my uncle had a project in Dalian, and I came to Dalian as a technical director. What I didn't expect was that after 22 years, I became a family in Dalian and took root here."

Hilvester Benjamin is currently the chairman of Dalian Somtec Industrial Components Co., Ltd. Since his first visit to Dalian in 2000, he has been attracted by the mountain and sea scenery of Dalian and the simplicity and kindness of the people. He loved the food in Dalian, marveled at the diversity of Dalian culture, and fell in love with Dalian.

In the past decade, Benjamin realized that the environment in Dalian is getting better and better, and the air quality is getting higher and higher. Especially in the development zone, the fresh air in the morning makes people feel comfortable. Dalian has successfully achieved both economic development and environmental protection. In the past decade, the government has paid more and more attention to attracting foreign investment, and there are more and more favorable policies. Benjamin's enterprises have also made great progress in Dalian. He said that choosing to come to Dalian was one of the choices he made in his life.

Benjamin said that Dalian not only has breathtaking mountain and sea scenery, but also is a transportation hub city, a famous port city, and a place where eastern and western cultures converge. This culture is very inclusive and forward-looking. After 22 years of living in Dalian, Benjamin believed that Dalian, with its rapid development, would succeed in creating the capital of East Asian culture. (Wen Chen Mo)
